INFORMATION: Lithograph created by Chagall in 1962 for the portfolio "Stained Glass Windows of Jerusalem," published by Sauret. This portfolio traces Chagall's work on the twelve stained glass windows designed for the synagogue of the Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem.
Reuben is the eldest son of the Hebrew patriarch Jacob and Leah in the Genesis story.
