INFORMATION: Lithograph created by Chagall in 1962 for the portfolio "Stained Glass Windows of Jerusalem," published by Sauret. This portfolio traces Chagall's work on the twelve stained glass windows designed for the synagogue of the Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem.
Levi is a character in Genesis. He is the third of the twelve sons of Jacob, who is himself the son of Isaac and grandson of Abraham, and also known as Israel. His mother is Leah. Levi dies at the age of 137.
