INFORMATION: Lithograph created by Chagall in 1962 for the portfolio "Stained Glass Windows of Jerusalem," published by Sauret. This portfolio traces Chagall's work on the twelve stained glass windows designed for the synagogue of the Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem.
Dan is the fifth son of Jacob, the biblical Israelite patriarch. His mother is Bilhah, Rachel's handmaid, who is barren at the time. Dan makes his will at the age of 125 and dies.
