INFORMATION: This interesting photo takes us to the North of Montmartre during the 1930s. This space, not yet urbanized, known as "the Zone" or "the Wasteland" is covered with makeshift shelters where low-income residents, new Parisians in need of housing, and artists live together. Everyone lives there on their own and on odd jobs, dreaming of the Paris "below" and waiting for better fortune...
