The first edition was created in 1891 for the play "Mevisto" at La Scala
The lithograph was published by Les Maîtres de l'Affiche in the Chaix printing house in 1897. It was part of this eponymous portfolio (plate no. 139) which represented the reproductions of the most
beautiful illustrated posters by the great artists of the time.
