INFORMATION: Around 1880, Degas began a series of monotypes inspired by Parisian brothels. These works remained in his personal collection and were purchased in the early 19th century.

20 by Ambroise Vollard (the famous dealer of Picasso, Cézanne, Renoir and Georges Rouault). He entrusted them to Maurice Potin who put them on copper and made the print. Vollard
publishes
finally around 1935 in two portfolios printed in around 350 copies.
The proposed engraving comes from the archives of the engraver Maurice Potin.
