INFORMATION: Lithograph created by Chagall in 1962 for the portfolio "Stained Glass Windows of Jerusalem," published by Sauret. This portfolio traces Chagall's work on the twelve stained glass windows designed for the synagogue of the Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem.
Joseph is a character in the Hebrew Bible and the Quran. He connects the story of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in Canaan to the later story of the Israelites' liberation from slavery in Egypt.
