The leaflet bears the publisher's stamp and the lithograph is also authenticated by the dry stamp of the publisher, L'Imprimerie Chaix.
The first edition was created in 1890 for the Théâtrophone (a telephone intended for listening to opera from a distance)
The lithograph was published by Les Maîtres de l'Affiche in the Chaix printing house in 1895. It was part of this eponymous portfolio (plate no. 33) which represented reproductions of the most beautiful
illustrated posters by the great artists of the time.
Excellent condition, some light foxing in the margins
