INFORMATION: Bernard Buffet made several retouches in black pastel, notably in the lower part of the cypress to the left of the composition and along the canal, thus reinforcing certain features. These modifications also appear on the numbered edition of this engraving. We can therefore assume that the Artist's Proofs correspond to the first state of the engraving.
